A character that I believe is a dynamic character is Jean Valjean. A dynamic character is someone read the story who changes throughout the course of the story. John Valjean is one of the main characters in the story “Les Miserables”. John Valjean has been changing from when we met him till right now that we still reading about him.
During the book of “Les Miserables” we read about a character who had changed often since we read about him and his past. His name was Jean Valjean he was a loving and caring before he went to prison. He would help out with his sister and seven children, and the lives in Povert. Jean Valjean, desperate to find a job and get money to help out his sister and children he had to steal some bread from a shop to feed his nephew and sister. For trying to help out with his family he was sent to prison where he started to change.
When he got sent to prison he had changed from a nice noble man to lonely and mean person. Living in prison had change who he was because he no longer had the chance to be with his family. As time went by he slowly started to change. He would turn from a nice and noble man to a lonely and aggressive person. John Valjean escaped from prison and sees what he has missed from his time of prison. Not much time went by were he was caught again and sent back to prison and was added more tears to his sentence. That would give him more time to change.
Once his sentence was over he left the prison he changed man he no longer was he caring man he turned aggressive. He would try to find a place to sleep but no one acepted him because he had bearly left the prison. John Valjean had been treated with neglect everywhere he had gone. He was mad at everyone. The government had let him work in prison were he got around 160 Francs in like 19 years and the government took some money away which is bad for him because he wouldn’t have enough money once he left the prison. To make matters worse he was rejected everywhere he went.
Jean Valjean was tired and hungry looking for hospitality but no one would give it to him. Until one lady told him about a bishop who would help him out. He went to the bishop for help once the bishop let him into his home Jean Valjean told him who he was and what he had done believing that the bishop will also kick him out once he had found out who he really was. The bishop Opened his home to Jean Valjean who needed help badly. With the help that was given to him it made a changed in his life.
Jean Valjean had lived a rough life like when he was living in poverty with his sister and nephews he was the one in charge to put it on the table to feed everyone. He had to find a way to feed everyone so if you stole some brands. Stealing the bread got him sent to prison where he was changed. Going to prison had changed and he would not be the same man he was one. All that changed when he met the bishop who opened up his home to him. The bishop let him inside his home where Jean Valjean felt loved, something he had not felt in a long time. The story is about life problems that were happening during that time period and that could be related to problems that are going on today. The story is helpful because there were many people who had lived through some hard time.
